Local Guidelines & Services

The City of Napa requires all new development or remodeling projects to provide adequate enclosures for trash, recycling and compost containers. See the complete updated info on our Enclosure Standards page.

The State of California and City of Napa require that large construction and demolition projects reuse or recycle at least 65% of the debris generated. You can get LEED credits for your green building project and save money with our source-separated recycling boxes. Recycle more and pay less – find info on our debris box service page.

Separated materials such as clean yard waste, wood, concrete, asphalt, drywallmetal, and e-waste can be brought to the Napa Recycling & Composting Facility.

Mixed C&D waste is accepted at the Devlin Road Transfer Station, which has mixed C&D sorting and diversion reporting for LEED projects.

Find information on other local landfills, transfer stations and recycling centers.

Forms

Qualifying City of Napa projects will need to fill out a Waste Reduction & Recycling Plan (WRRP). The City’s Materials Volume-to-Weight Conversion Sheet (PDF) is available to help in plan preparation.

More info on the C&D Ordinance can be found in the FAQ (PDF) from the City of Napa’s Recycling & Solid Waste Division. Read the City of Napa’s Construction and Demolition Debris Recycling Ordinance (PDF) for more information.
